The Big Future of Funerals Survey was undertaken by Pure Cremation and they found that there has been a big change in how people view funerals.
I must say that after speaking to many people about their wishes when they pass away, I can also feel a shift in how people view their funerals and how they feel about them.
A few of the interesting findings of the survey were:
- 54% of people want less stress for their family and friends when arranging a funeral;
- 52% want to express their life through the ashes' final resting place and finding the location is very important;
- 77% of people said that they did not want any professional or a funeral plan provider to arrange the event
I have noticed the same views when speaking with clients.
It is important to make sure that your wishes, whatever they may be, are explained to your family and friends, and can be set out within your Will to corroborate that wish.
