Wills & Probate | Gambling With £5.5tn Inheritance

Updated: Jul 31, 2023

New studies have released findings that over half of the UK are gambling with inheritance as 57% of people are without a Will which leaves their families open to difficulties when they pass away.

It is not a big “well done” to the 47% that do have a Will, as 53% have not updated their within the last 5 years and a further 14% have never updated their Wills.

A high percentage of people have said that they would be willing to contest someone else's Will if they felt that they had not received their fair share.

If you do not have a Will or are not updating it on a regular basis, you may be leaving your estate and loved ones open to financial claims which could have been avoided.

Kings Court Trust have said that £5.5tn will be passed between the generations over the next three decades, and this could mean that those who do not have a Will or an up to date Will are leaving their assets as per their wishes.
